What is it like to be a Vancouver realtor?

Although the education requirement is somewhat minimal and starting capital required to become an official realtor isn’t too much, it really takes a lot of drive and determination to become a successful realtor.

When you’re just starting, you’ll likely need to work a lot of nights and weekends. Once you’ve very established in your career you can set your own schedule a little bit more.

There isn’t usually much of an “average day.” Every day is different. You will spend a lot of time prospecting or looking for new clients though.

What does it take to be a successful Vancouver realtor?

First and foremost is the drive and determination mentioned earlier. You have to be self-disciplined and willing to work hard. Secondly, keen communication skills are absolutely crucial – not only for building rapport with clients or potential clients but also for negotiating deals as well. After that come a lot of other skills such as the ability to develop a solid marketing strategy.

What’s the difference between a Vancouver real estate agent and a Vancouver realtor?

Essentially the difference is that one is a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR). While they complete similar jobs, one is held to a certain set of standards outlined by the NAR.
